Slap in the face for MPs as court blocks higher pay

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 30 – Members of Parliament have received a slap in the face after the High Court barred the Parliamentary Service Commission from paying them salaries higher than what was recommended by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Justice David Majanja gave the orders on Thursday afternoon following a suit filed by the Law Society of Kenya.
LSK is represented in the case by lawyers Nzamba Kitonga and Katwa Kigen.
All the parties have been ordered to appear in court on Friday for the mention of the case that was filed under a certificate of urgency.
