Herms House burning

Property of unknown value was Friday morning destroyed when fire broke out in Nairobi's Herms House, along Tom Mboya Street.

The fire is believed to have started at 8.00am local time in the morning after an iron box left in a tailoring business exploded.

The two storey building accommodates several business premises, including Union of Local Government, Communication Workers Union and Kenya Chemicals Union.

Wachira said their offices were worst hit losing important records and office furniture.

No one was however injured during the morning incident which attracted a large crowd of onlookers.
